Richard Cook

Richard Cook is a Director in the Financial Policy & Operations Team at the British Bankers' Association, which he joined in September 2005. His
portfolio includes all aspects of financial crime against the banking industry, including physical security issues, fraud, identity theft and proceeds
of crime issues. Richard also manages the BBA's relationships with the police, law enforcement agencies and Government on financial crime and related issues.
Richard was previously at HM Treasury where he had responsibility for long term savings, capability and redress issues. Prior to this, he spent 11
years at the Office of Fair Trading where he gained substantial regulatory experience of both competition and consumer law, in particular in development
of enforcement policy, cross-border casework and liaison, and was private secretary to the (then) Director General. Before that he served in the Royal Navy.
