This week, Head of Consumer Finance at Moneyfactscompare.co.uk, Adam French has analysed the following deals, along with their perks, of note:

Mortgage

Santander – 10 Year Fixed Rate Mortgage (Home Movers, 90% LTV)

Commenting on the deal, Adam French, Head of Consumer Finance at Moneyfactscompare.co.uk, said:

"Santander has expanded its mortgage range with the launch of 10-year fixed rates at higher loan-to-value tiers, offering borrowers with smaller deposits another opportunity to lock in their repayments over the longer term. This deal earns a Moneyfacts 'Best Buy' thanks to its strong overall proposition, with the addition of cashback and a free valuation helping to cement its position at the top of its sector.

"Borrowers should be aware that the deal carries a £999 product fee, so it is important to weigh this against the overall value of the package and the certainty that a decade-long fixed rate can provide. Those considering a longer-term commitment may find it worth considering if payment stability is their priority."

Key product details:

  • Rate: 5.59% fixed to 2.11.36
  • Product fee: £999
  • Maximum loan-to-value: 90%
  • Available to: Homemovers
  • Incentives: £250 cashback, free valuation
  • Flexible features: Overpayments allowed up to 10% of outstanding balance per annum
  • Lending area: Great Britain & Northern Ireland.

Moneybox – Moneybox Cash ISA

Commenting on the deal, Adam French, Head of Consumer Finance at Moneyfactscompare.co.uk, said:

"Moneybox has boosted the appeal of its Cash ISA by increasing its rate to 4.65% AER. The move lifts the account further into the top 10 while also paying one of the market-leading rates among comparable variable rate Cash ISAs, making it a compelling option for savers looking to maximise their tax-free returns.

"Savers should be aware that the headline return includes a 1.15% bonus for the first 12 months, meaning the rate will fall once the bonus expires. A lower rate will also be paid if four or more withdrawals are made in a 12-month period. As with any bonus account, it is sensible to review the ISA at that point to ensure it continues to meet your savings needs."

Key product details:

  • Rate: 4.65% AER variable (including 1.15% bonus for first 12 months)
  • Minimum opening amount: £500
  • Maximum investment amount: None
  • Access: Easy, but a lower rate is paid if more than three withdrawals are made in a 12-month period via nominated account
  • Opening account: Internet, app
  • Managing account: Internet, app
  • Transfers in: Yes, from Cash, Stocks & Shares, Help to Buy or Innovative Finance ISA
  • Transfer out: No penalty
  • Eligibility: New customers only
  • Other information: Investors can choose to split their Cash ISA savings across multiple ISAs within Moneybox's range
  • FSCS-protected up to £120,000.

Fixed Bonds

Habib Bank Zurich plc – 12 Month HBZ Fixed Rate e-Deposit Account

Commenting on the deal, Adam French, Head of Consumer Finance at Moneyfactscompare.co.uk, said:

"Habib Bank Zurich plc has improved the return on its 12 Month e-Deposit Account with a rate increase to 4.91% AER. The changes move the account into the top 10 while also paying one of the market-leading rates for comparable one-year fixed bonds, making it worthy of consideration for savers wanting to lock away their cash for a fixed term.

"One feature that helps this account stand out is the ability to make additional deposits for up to 30 days after opening via a nominated account, offering greater flexibility than some rival fixed bonds. Savers should nevertheless ensure they are comfortable committing their funds for the full fixed term before applying."

Key product details:

  • Rate: 4.91% AER expected profit rate, paid on maturity
  • Term: 12 Month fixed term
  • Minimum opening amount: £5,000
  • Maximum investment: £1million
  • Access: No withdrawals or closures permitted
  • Further additions: Permitted for 30 days from account opening via a nominated account
  • Opening account: Internet
  • Managing account: Postal, telephone
  • Eligibility: Must be over 18 years old, a UK resident and have a UK-nominated account and sort code
  • Other information: Shari’ah-compliant Islamic bank, FSCS-protected up to £120,000, * expected profit rate

Buy-to-Let Mortgage

NatWest – Two-Year Fixed Rate Mortgage (75% LTV, House Purchase)

Commenting on the deal, Adam French, Head of Consumer Finance at Moneyfactscompare.co.uk, said:

"Although NatWest has increased rates across some of its fixed mortgage range, this two-year deal for landlords has seen only a modest rise and continues to offer a very competitive deal for house purchase borrowers. Retaining its Moneyfacts 'Best Buy' status despite the increase demonstrates that it remains among the stronger options available in its sector.

"Borrowers should note that the mortgage carries a £995 fee, so the overall cost should be considered alongside the headline rate. The inclusion of a free valuation strengthens the package and could prove attractive to buyers comparing the total value offered by competing lenders."

Key product details:

  • Rate: 4.95% fixed to 31.10.28
  • Maximum loan-to-value: 75%
  • Product fee: £995
  • Available to: House purchasers
  • Flexible features: Overpayments allowed up to 20% of outstanding balance per annum
  • Incentives: Free valuation
  • Lending area: Great Britain & Northern Ireland.
